Do Men Go For Baby Showers?

For so many years, there has been a mystery that men shouldn’t be allowed to go for baby showers, but this mystery is starting to change. When baby showers were organized in the past, they were put together for women alone, while the men were excluded. The idea behind a baby shower event is for the most important women in a pregnant woman’s life to come together and celebrate the arrival of the unborn child, and baby showers in the past were organized because there was this idea that raising a child mostly falls to the mother and not to the father. However, a lot has changed in recent years, and questions like, do men go for baby showers are now being asked.

The answer to the question above is yes, men are starting to attend baby showers today. This change came as a result of men or fathers deciding to play key and  important roles in the raising and upbringing of their kids. Women are no longer allowed to think raising babies fall to them alone, and this gives the men an advantage to be part of any baby shower event. Just like we mentioned at the beginning of this guide, baby showers were organized in the past where women close to the expectant mother gets invited alone.

However, the invited women could be from friends, family, or colleagues at work, and even though the idea of not inviting men to baby showers wasn’t just to prevent men from joining the women in catching some fun, part of the reason why the men never got invited was based on the fact that discussing pre-natal and post-natal topics in the presence of men was not ideal. So many women claim having these conversations in the presence of men made them uncomfortable, hence the reason why men were never invited to baby showers.

Nowadays, the mystery behind baby shower events has changed and so many men have started attending their wives and friends baby shower events. The reason behind this change is because so many men nowadays have started getting more involved in the affairs of their children in terms of upbringing. Since men have become more aware and conscious of their duties in raising their kids, why shouldn’t they be allowed to be a part of their wife’s baby shower event. It will come as a surprise to you that men also organize their own private party in honor of their unborn child.

They tag this party a “dadchelor party” where every man invited to the party comes with an item that is found in a baby’s registry. It is also an opportunity for men to have fun and watch some sports. Baby shower events today sees a lot of men getting interested and participating, and it should be seen as something extraordinary or a taboo. Fathers are wanting to be a part of this event, and it will be interesting to know that a baby shower party where men are allowed to participate is an opportunity for everyone to come together and bond some more.

Bearing all of these factors in mind, restricting dads from attending baby shower parties should be abolished. However, it should be a father’s decision not to attend his wife’s baby shower party, and women who still believe men should be exempted from baby shower event’s should think of all other benefits and advantages that allowing men attend provides. This topic needs to be carefully approached whenever it is being discussed, because a man’s decision not to attend his wife’s baby shower party should come from him and not him being restricted from attending.

Husband and wives attending their unborn child’s baby shower party is becoming very popular nowadays, but women should be aware of the fact that only younger men will be interested in attending a baby shower party. It will be difficult for grandparents or soon to be grandparents to consider attend a baby shower party.
