Hi Karen!I asked a bunch of friends-I-haven't-met-yet at the "Gatherings" forum for Threads (a primarily fashion-sewing magazine published by Taunton) for suggestions about what kind of fabric you should look for in a coat - (Here's the link - I think you can read it without "signing up": http://forums.taunton.com/tp-gatherings/messages?msg=9305.3 )Suggestions include leather (real or faux), nylon or cotton twill/canvas (over down) and faux fur (preferably Marble-colored!). Polyester, which I know you detest, doesn't much lend itself to "warm" and also is prone to static, which leads directly to the hair-coat problem!Meanwhile, you could have the zipper replaced on your current coat with one that zips UP too. That's a whole 'nother chain of links and logistics, but let me know if you want more info. Big Warm Hugs!Karen J.
