Siberian Husky Update

There is nothing more adorable than a sleeping dog/ and or child. Not to lump a pet in with a child, yet I did  have the same feeling when my kids fell asleep – awwww looook they are sleeping and they are soooo cute!

I am so taken with the bottoms of her feet, I can hardly stand it. Paws. Who knew.

This picture is taken on her favorite couch or the only couch she’s allowed to lay on ( because her tooth caught on a thread and yanked a big hole out of the arm of it couch). It has a good dose of daily sun coming from the east. When the sun shines on her fur I think it’s really pretty

I find I follow the suns rays, having my morning tea, by these windows where she lies and then proceed south to my office where I can stay a good part of the day and be befriended by the warmth and brightness. In the late afternoon my den has a glow and it’s where I like to sit and read. My next home I hope can have the same layout. Pretty cool to have the path of my day follow the natural path of the sun.

A few wonderful things have happened with Marble lately. I wrote a post a ways back about not being able to speak dog.  A friend commented on how her siberian had a huge vocabulary and it has had us be more on purpose about teaching her words. She’s become a much better communicator by either clawing a specific hutch or a certain type of bark, especially when she has to go out or needs water.

By asking her does she need to go out or would you like some water? We will now get in reply a double bark.( like roger that affirmative I have to go or yes please I’m thirsty

At first I it was quirky but now it happens every time. How cool is that!

She also will alert me twice a day to the the hunger meows of our Cleo. Cleo our 12 yr old cat, is sequestered in the bathroom.  Partly because she has no claws to protect her from the evil wonder dog, partly because she hurls alot and it’s easier to clean up in there. We’ve made quite the cat haven in the bathroom for her so it’s not so bad. I just think it’s funny that our dog is concern about her when she minks for food.

Makes me wonder if Marble would be a good pal for another dog, and what that would be like. Since having one dog has been an indescribable journey I think I’d be insane to get another, more dog food to by, more poop to pick up, more walks. At the same time would it be better for her to have a dog mate??

Another silly thing my daughter does is as we eat, and the dog comes to the table with her ever so inquisitive sniffing, my Kate will blow on her nose and describe what she’s eating. (blow and say meatloaf – how mr rogers-like)

I think it’s so funny. Perhaps she’ll develop a connection with a favorite scent and the word (not that this family will ever give her table scraps!)

In the camera I have a series of pics that are snow dog shots, not sure how they turned out – can’t wait to see them ( yes i am archaic and still use a film camera )
